About Tasmedia

What is Tasmedia?

Tasmedia.org is a resource for everyone interested in social change in Tasmania. Designed to be open access and easy to use, Tasmedia features a calendar of upcoming events and a newswire to keep you up-to-date on local affairs. The content of Tasmedia is entirely user-created – so if you want your event promoted on Tasmedia you need to publish it yourself. Publishing on Tasmedia is easy – if you can use the web well enough to be reading this you can publish your news or events on Tasmedia.

Why use Tasmedia?

Tasmedia is now the standard calendar for most environmental and social-change groups in Tasmania. This means that these groups check the calendar when planning their events to avoid clashing with a similar event. If you want to find out what's happening in your area, promote an event with an environmental or social change focus, share photos of a recent protest or comment on current affairs then Tasmedia is the site to use.
