3 Mar 2007 - 11:00am
3 Mar 2007 - 2:30pm

Tasmanians Against the Pulpmill (TAP) are organising a pulp mill water rally to demonstrate community opposition to Gunns proposed thirsty pulp mill.

Saturday 3rd March at 11am King's Park Launceston

Join Peter Cundall, Expert Geohydrologist Dr David Leaman, Simeon Michaels and other guest speakers.

There will be land and water based activities from 11am including a major flotilla of boats and other small river craft, a great line up of key note speakers and entertainment including music, dancers, jugglers and pipes.

If you have a small river craft and would like to join the water rally come to the Tamar Basin on Saturday and show your concern. For more information about being part of the water based activities call Jim Collier on 0424 009 598 or email liberator9@hotmail.com

If the pulp mill is built it will consume 26 000 000 000 litres of water per year.
A further 630 000 000 000 litres of water will be exploited by the mill.
All homes and industries in the Tamar Valley are supplied with 29 000 000 000 litres of water per year.
Existing water resources are already under stress. This impacts crops,domestic/industrial water, fish and river life.

Come along and say no to this thirsty native forest based polluting pulp mill.

For more information or if you would like to help to make this event a success visit www.tapvision.info or call Jim Collier on 0424 009 598 or Michael Morris on 0418 130 055.
