Protest: Stop the Pulp Mill

22 Mar 2007 - 12:30pm

The Wilderness Society is organising a protest against the State Government's unseemly willingness to allow Gunns to simply opt out of scrutiny by the RPDC. Given the turnout they got with less than 24 hours notice last week, this one promises to be a big event.

This is crunch time. The assessment process is falling apart, and the Lennon government cannot be allowed to simply pretend it's not happening, replacing an assessment process with an approval process. Be there to make the point.

Also, now is a good time to be writing letters to the federal government. To go ahead, the pulp mill needs their approval also, and they've previously committed themselves to the RPDC process.
